We suggest a hollow-structured N, Se dual-doped carbon framework embedded with Co/CoSe2 nanoparticles (Co/CoSe2@NSeC) as highly efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). The prepared electrocatalyst exhibits high electrochemical active surface area attributed to its unique hollow/porous structure and defective heteroatom doping sites. Furthermore, the strongly coupled heterojunction between Co and CoSe2 species not only provides abundant and highly active sites but also generates built-in electric field, thereby promoting electron transfer during the electrocatalytic reaction.
